The Evangelical Presbyterian Church International Congregation (EPCIC) was founded in 2020 with a vision to create an inclusive worship community that transcends language barriers. The idea for the congregation was first conceived by Mrs. Theresa Kuadah Agbenya, who was deeply concerned about the spiritual growth of her children. She sought to ensure that her family and others could remain connected to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) tradition while overcoming the limitations of language that sometimes hindered participation.
Mrs. Agbenya’s desire for a more accessible and inclusive worship experience led her to share her vision with Rev. Vanessa Mensah-Adu, a passionate and visionary leader within the EPC. With her unwavering commitment to serving the diverse needs of the community, Rev. Mensah-Adu embraced the idea and took the bold step of founding the EPCIC.
The congregation was designed to hold services primarily in English, making it possible for individuals from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds to join together in worship. This approach quickly resonated with many, drawing in people who valued the inclusivity and accessibility of the English-language services.
Under Rev. Mensah-Adu’s leadership, EPCIC has grown steadily in both size and influence. The church’s commitment to fostering a welcoming environment and maintaining its roots in the rich traditions of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church has attracted a diverse and vibrant congregation. Over the years, EPIC has become a spiritual home for many, serving as a unifying space where individuals can worship and connect regardless of their linguistic or cultural differences.
Today, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church International Congregation stands as a testament to the power of inclusivity and the enduring relevance of faith in overcoming barriers. Its story is one of vision, collaboration, and growth, and it continues to inspire others within the broader EPC community.
